Cargoways is a freight matching service connecting shippers with logistics partners on trade lanes between Germany and the Gulf.

3. What data we collect

When you submit the contact form on this website, we collect the information you provide, which may include:

• Full name, company, email address, and phone number
• Shipment details: origin, destination, cargo type, volume or weight, preferred shipping date, Incoterm, and any additional notes you provide

4. Why we process this data

We use your shipment details to contact vetted logistics partners on your behalf, collect offers, and compile them into a pool for you to review and compare. We use your contact details to communicate with you about your request.

5. Legal basis

We process your data based on Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (steps necessary prior to entering into a contract, at your request) and, where applicable, Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (our legitimate interest in operating and improving this service).

6. Sharing your data with logistics partners

To obtain offers for your shipment, we share the relevant shipment details you provide (and the minimum contact information necessary) with logistics partners in our network. Some of these partners are located outside the European Economic Area, including in the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and Oman.

Transfers of personal data to these countries are carried out on the basis of Standard Contractual Clauses. We only share the information necessary for a partner to prepare an offer.

7. How long we keep your data

We retain shipment request data for 1 months after your last contact with us, or as required to comply with legal retention obligations, whichever is longer.

8. Cookies and analytics

This site does not use cookies or third-party analytics tools.

Under the GDPR, you have the right to:

• Request access to the personal data we hold about you
• Request correction of inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your data, where applicable
• Request restriction of processing
